2. Overview

This website is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. It uses no analytics, no advertising trackers and no social-media plugins. Personal data is processed only when you contact us or subscribe to the newsletter, and to operate the website securely.

3. Hosting and server log files

When you visit the site, the server automatically records technical information that your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. This data is required to deliver the website and to ensure its security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). 4. Cookies

Ordinary page views set no cookies. Pages containing a form (contact form and newsletter sign-up) set a single technically necessary session cookie (sw_session). 5. Contact form and email

If you contact us via the form or by email, we process the details you provide (name, email address, organisation if given, subject, enquiry type and message) in order to answer your enquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual matter, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our interest in answering enquiries) and your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Your data is deleted once your enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

To prevent abuse, the number of messages per connection is limited. For this purpose an irreversible, salted hash of your IP address is stored for up to one hour; the IP address itself is not stored.

6. Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we process your email address on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We use the double opt-in procedure: after signing up you receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. We record the time of sign-up and confirmation and the wording of your consent in order to be able to prove it. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the link in every newsletter or by email. Your address is then deleted from the mailing list.
